The Colorado
Jr. Eagles recognizes that the club hockey season can create conflicts
for participants especially the Midget Major and Minor age players. As
a result, the Jr. Eagles will strive to create the least amount of
conflict for all participants.
We believe that we can work with any athlete to make the hockey
experience as worthwhile as possible while still allowing the athlete
participate in other fall sports, high school hockey and spring sports
that conflict with the hockey season. We do not want any athlete to not
play hockey because of fear of conflicts. We will work with any athlete
on a case by case basis to ensure the athlete can play other sports
along with hockey.

The Colorado
Jr. Eagles hosted “Cards for Kids” Casino Night on Friday April 6 at
the Crystal Rose. All who attended enjoyed cocktails, dinner, and
gambling. The night also included a silent auction which was headlined
by a Hot Air Balloon Ride for 4.
For the majority of the evening members of the Jr. Eagles Pee Wee team
found themselves consumed by the chance of winning big cash at the
Roulette Table. The casino area was filled with joyful yells and
frustrating groans of the Pee Wee’s. The Bantam A team found the game
Texas Hold’Em appealing. The boys sat at the table for almost the
entire night trying to win the Original Jr. Eagles game jersey which
was the prize for the kid who finished the night with the most money.
After the poker was finished Noah Eckebrecht rose victorious as he
walked away with $1700 in chips giving him the crown of “Kids
Champion.”
As for the adults, there were two table full of parents trying to win
the Grand Prize, Trip for 2 to Central City for a weekend, with many of
them buying back in every few hours it became quite competitive. After
about two and a half hours of gambling Mike Cook walked out on top
earning him the Central City Package.
The Jr. Eagles thank everyone who attended for making it a successful
night for the program. For those who couldn’t attend, you were missed
and we hope to see you in the future at our other fundraising events
We thank Barb Fraser and the Crystal Rose for organizing the event, it was very enjoyable for all.
Picture of the event will be posted on the website in the near future so please check back to see the fun.
Just a reminder the next event for the Jr. Eagles will be the Golf
Tournament on June 22 @ Highlands Ranch Golf Course. Tournament
Applications can be found online.
Thanks

The Colorado
Jr. Eagles would like to thank the Food Bank of the Rockies for their
support over the past few years. The Jr. Eagles and the Food Bank have
been working together to help fight hunger in Colorado. The Jr. Eagles
have donated portions of their yearly fundraisers to the Food Bank
since the Jr. Eagles began back in 2001.
Colorado Jr. Eagles Business Manager Chris Gassman presented a check
today to Kristina Cordova, Event & Promotion Manager for the Food
Bank, at their Denver distribution warehouse.
The Jr. Eagles are excited about the opportunity to do their part in
helping the fight against hunger in Colorado and are looking forward to
the continued support from the Food Bank in the years to come.
For every dollar donated the food bank can provide 5 meals!

I just
wanted to take a quick minute and thank everybody who has been involved
with making the Junior Eagles program such a huge success these past
three years. A special thanks to our lead sponsor, John Elway AutoNation,
thanks for helping the program enjoy so much success and all your
support for the kids! Having John Elway AutoNation involved has
definitely allowed us to raise the bar. Winning two State Championships
in one year is going to be a tough act to follow.
Putting league and tournament success aside, I believe the program
succeeded in fulfilling its’ mission to teach and develop. As coaches
we have an obligation to continually develop our knowledge and pass
this on to the players and parents, ultimately developing the program
as a whole.
Has it been an easy journey? Not always, but nothing worthwhile doing
is. It takes a great deal of hard work and dedication from everyone
involved… from the family’s dedication to the hockey lifestyle, to the
rink staff that takes care of our ice. Has it been worth it?
Absolutely.
So, from the Colorado Jr. Eagles, thank you to everyone who has helped
out and supported this program from it’s inception, and continues to do
so. The Jr. Eagles program has built up a huge head of steam in its
first three years of existence and we have some exciting growth
opportunities to announce for the coming years, so keep your eye's
peeled to the website for new information and we'll see you at the rink!
