The Colorado Jr. Eagles Squirt C team are league champions for the first time in team history! Pueblo was the site for this years CDYHL Squirt tournament and the first test for the Squirts was a Friday night meeting with Steamboat. The final was Jr. Eagles 6  Steamboat 1 highlighted by a hat-trick for Andy Stasch. Saturday morning was the next test against the home team Pueblo. Down 2-0 with 5 minutes Jr. Eagles Jordan Mazatelli and Dillon Stapleton scored back to back goals to tie the game and send it to overtime which had no scoring leading to a shootout. Cole Halax proved to be the hero as the final shooter scoring to give the Squirts the victory 3-2 leading them to the championship early Sunday morning. Aspen who had beaten the Squirts once this season was the opponent for the Championship. The game winning goal was scored only 12 seconds into the game by Dillon Stapleton as Jonathon Fast stopped all Aspen shots with the Squirts winning the game and the league championship with a shutout 6-0. Congratulations to all of the players as well as Coaches George Wolff and Mike Stasch and continued success in the CAHA State tournament.
