The Colorado
Jr. Eagles hosted “Cards for Kids” Casino Night on Friday April 6 at
the Crystal Rose. All who attended enjoyed cocktails, dinner, and
gambling. The night also included a silent auction which was headlined
by a Hot Air Balloon Ride for 4.
For the majority of the evening members of the Jr. Eagles Pee Wee team
found themselves consumed by the chance of winning big cash at the
Roulette Table. The casino area was filled with joyful yells and
frustrating groans of the Pee Wee’s. The Bantam A team found the game
Texas Hold’Em appealing. The boys sat at the table for almost the
entire night trying to win the Original Jr. Eagles game jersey which
was the prize for the kid who finished the night with the most money.
After the poker was finished Noah Eckebrecht rose victorious as he
walked away with $1700 in chips giving him the crown of “Kids
Champion.”
As for the adults, there were two table full of parents trying to win
the Grand Prize, Trip for 2 to Central City for a weekend, with many of
them buying back in every few hours it became quite competitive. After
about two and a half hours of gambling Mike Cook walked out on top
earning him the Central City Package.
The Jr. Eagles thank everyone who attended for making it a successful
night for the program. For those who couldn’t attend, you were missed
and we hope to see you in the future at our other fundraising events
We thank Barb Fraser and the Crystal Rose for organizing the event, it was very enjoyable for all.
